Genelia D'Souza has revealed some worrying Bollywood news, but quickly eased everyone's fears in the same breath. The Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actress shared on social media that she had tested positive for COVID-19 three weeks ago, but is fine now, adding that she has been asymptomatic for the last 21 days, which no doubt sent a sigh of relief across both entertainment news and her fans as also those of her husband, Riteish Deshmukh's. She also opened up on how painful isolation can be during this period no matter how much one surrounds themselves with digital options, and why love and good, healthy habits are the only ways to fight coronavirus.
Taking to her official Instagram handle, Genelia D'Souza wrote: “Hi, I was tested Covid positive three weeks ago. I was asymptomatic for last 21 days. With God’s grace I tested negative today. As much as I count my blessings that my battle with the disease has been much easier but at the same time I must admit that these last 21 days in isolation have been the most challenging to deal with. No amount of FaceTime and digital immersion can kill the evil of loneliness. I am happy to be back with family and loved ones. Surround yourselves with love… that’s the true strength and it’s all one needs. Test early, eat healthy, stay fit — the only way to fight this monster.”
As soon as she posted the news both on Instagram and Twitter, good wishes and positive messages have been puring in from across Bollywood and media circles as well as the common public. Beside Genelia D'Souza, celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarys Rai Bachchan, Aaradhya Bachchan, Kanika Kapoor, Parth Samthaan among others had earlier tested positive for COVID-19.
